C Prasannan
Are we seeing another legend-in-the-making? Alistair Cook, our own Bedfordshirian, the young product of Bedford School, has just scored his fifth century in only 15 test appearances so far. He also has 3 fifties. He became only the 16th batsman in English cricket history to score a test hundred on debut. He is averaging 100 at Lord's. His test batting average is 44.22; He was the Young Cricketer of the Year in 2005 and 2006. He captained England under-19 in the world cup and reached the semifinals. He plays for Essex.
